Where does epidural hemorrhaging occur?

Epidural hemorrhaging occurs between the skull and the dura mater. This type of hemorrhage is typically the result of trauma, particularly from a skull fracture that tears the arterial supply in this area, leading to bleeding that forms a hematoma. Since this bleeding happens in the space just outside the dura mater, it can create pressure on the brain and lead to increased intracranial pressure, which can be life-threatening if not addressed.
